Frankly Golf

I was watching The Open Championship from Royal Portrush on TV, and it was just so visually beautiful, with the grey skies and color of the links that I thought "I think I will paint a golf hole".

And so it started. I immediately headed off to my studio (while still listening to the golf on TV) and painted "It's Blowin' a Hooley", which is Scottish for "It's a very windy day".

Most recently I completed an illustrated book "Dreams of Golf in Scotland" which features the Golfing Girl in the Red Dress and Whisky, her Westie dog on a golfing dream around some famous and some not so famous courses in Scotland.

When creating my paintings I want to bring the viewer into the hole and imagine playing the hole, seeing the ball fly through the air and land at the flagstick.

I hope you enjoy seeing the game the way I see it. Full of beauty, tranquility, color. And of course, good shots.
